Down at the Ranch
WHY IS IT STARTING TO FEEL LIKE
A
ZOO AROUND HERE???
Counter
We just adopted "Amber" on Nov. 10,
2008.  She's only about 9 weeks old in
these pics.  Talk about a handful!  The
other cats think she's nuts but
we all
think she's as funny as can be!
"Spaz" is over 13 years old.  We adopted him
him at 6 weeks old.  I had to give him medicine
for 2 weeks.  He loved snuggling into my shirts as
a kitten.  We named him "Spazoid" because as a
kitten, he would run around like a lunatic!  He still
loves to play like a kitten but he does not like
being chased by the kitten.
"Violet" found us in Nov. 2007.  She was
one of the many young cats from the
neighbors'.  When we got her she was 6
months old and pregnant.  She lost her
kittens in the cold.  She thinks she owns me,
but don't tell "Spaz" that!  At least she fends
off "Amber" when she decides to
attack me in
play.
Spin N Zip or "Spinner" as he is
known, Is a nice Cremello Stud Colt
bought to add to our breeding
program.  He was bred and raised by
Dan and Claudia Robbins of Burns,
OR.  He is bred from Champions and
has a lot of color in his pedigree.  We
are looking forward to the results from
breeding this guy to a select group of
our mares.  One of his "dating"
prospects is the mare pictured next to
him.
SmokyMountainTender or "Dani" as
she is affectionately called, was
recently acquired to join our small
broodmare band.  She has a sweet
personality and is slated to start
"dating" Spinner or Doc in the Spring
of 2011.  We can't wait to see the
results!  She has good lines and a lot
of color in her pedigree.  Look for this
mare to produce colorful, well bred
foals.  This mare should produce
winners no matter who we pair her with!
SIENNA is a purebred German Shepard  who was
abandoned at app 4 mos. old.  She was found
wandering the street by our oldest daughter.  Her
owners were found and they gave us the puppy.
We had her spayed and made her another
member of the family.  Sienna loves her rawhides
and squeaky toys as well as trying to "herd" the
horses.  Her favorite game seems to be waking us
up with either her squeaky toy or a rope that was
a toy pelican's legs. She is a lot of fun and as
goofy as they come!
DOCS HOLLYWOOD BANJO  or "Jo",
is a very pretty black AQHA mare we
recently acquired.  She has a sweet
personality and nice bloodlines.  We
look forward to breeding her to Spinner
when he's ready or our Homozygous
black stallion.  We have equal chances
of getting Smoky Black, Buckskin or
Palomino foals if bred to Spinner.  Bred
to our Homozygous black, she will throw
black foals every time.  She should
produce winners no matter who she
"dates"!  We can't wait to see the results
from this mare!

Meet "Charlie".  Charlie is a dump off.  He and his sister were
found freezing and half starved cuddled together in our Arabian's
hay.  We took them in and got them back up to weight.  Both came
with road abrasions around the mouth making us think they were
thrown from a moving vehicle.  Charlie's mouth was worse and
infected.  He is now becoming quite the watchdog and is very loyal.
We think he is Lab/Border Collie cross.  He is only app. 5 mos. old
here.
*** Spaz got sick and passed away in April of
2010.  Old age was the culprit and we could do
nothing to save him.  R.I.P.  my friend.
