Down at the Ranch
               Toby!!  (Named for October)
Toby was given to us as a kitten in October of 2006.
Toby came to us with previously broken back legs and
perception.  His injuries were caused by being thrown
repeatedly against the former owner's garage.  He was
seriously underweight and under-developed.

Now he is one of the favorites, and as goofy as a cat can
get.  He chases imaginary prey and jumps at invisible
bugs on the wall.  Toby will race unprovoked around the
house and then crouch down and stare at you as though
you are his next target.  Toby is a constant riot and gets
us all to laugh at his crazy antics.  Yep.  He's here to stay!

us.  He is 7 months old in this photo.
Who's your Daddy?!?!
GUS (Augustus for the month we found him)
We aren't sure what Gus is other than a kitten.  Our oldest daughter
and our next door neighbor found him in a drainage ditch.   He
looks like a cross between a Siamese and a Manx.  Not only is he a
great playmate for Toby, but our youngest daughter totally adores
him. He came with abscesses, ear mites and fleas.  Yep, you
guessed it!  Yet another one for the collection.  We just hope that
no one will think we are an animal rescue and decide to use us as
an animal drop off point.
WHY IS IT STARTING TO FEEL LIKE

We have learned that Gus cannot ignore anything being dragged or
trailing in front of him.  What a great way to get him out from under the
bed!
Gus and Toby have sadly gone
missing.  Although we spent
months looking for them, they
were not to be found.  We can
only pray that they're in a happier
place.   We miss them very much.
We just adopted "Amber" on Nov. 10,
2008.  She's only about 9 weeks old in
these pics.  Talk about a handful!  The
other cats think she's nuts but
we all
think she's as funny as can be!
"Spaz" is over 13 years old.  We
adopted him from the Kitsap Humane
Society in WA.   We got him at 6 weeks
old.  He was sick and I had to give him
medicine for 2 weeks.  He loved
snuggling into my shirts as a kitten and
was a total lunatic, thus earning his
name, "Spazoid".  He still loves to play
like a kitten but he does not like being
chased by the kitten.
"Violet" found us in Nov. 2007.  She was one of the
many young cats from the neighbors'.  When we
finally realized that we had been adopted by her, she
was 6 months old and pregnant.  She lost her kittens
before we could coax her into the house.  Once we
got her trust, we had her spayed and taught her to
trust people.  Now she loves sleeping cocooned in a
spare blanket in my lap or as shown in these pictures
sleeping in a bag of shavings.  She also has a pillow
under one of the desks.  "Violet" seems to think she
now owns me, but don't tell "Spaz" that!  At least she
fends off "Amber" when she decides to
attack me in
play.
